Eastman Gelatine Earns Halal Certification for Food and Pharmaceutical Gelatin

March 14, 2008 Peabody, Massachusetts.

Eastman Gelatine has earned Halal re-certification for the production for food and pharmaceutical 

grade gelatin by the Islamic Services of America (I.S.A.).

An on-site inspection took place on January 17, 2008. I.S.A. toured the factory and reviewed production areas, laboratory, cleaning and operational sanitation procedures. “This facility is under the most stringent food regulatory systems and there are no additives or processing involving non-Halal ingredients. All products from this facility are fit for human consumption under FDA guidelines.” Stated I.S.A. Field Director Paul M. Habhab in a letter to Eastman Gelatine following the inspection.
